Sustainable Futures Festival

Exciting New Phenomenon ~ never before seen in Port Stephens!

In partnership with local communities, environment groups, businesses and St Philip’s Christian College, EcoNetwork Port Stephens is excited and proud to have this opportunity to host a special event for everyone to come along and experience, enjoy, learn, socialise.

Our inaugural festival will showcase environmental innovation, sustainable living and the different ways in which nature enriches our lives.

By getting together to create positive change in this challenging world, we envisage that visitors and participants alike, will benefit personally from the experience while helping the environment and our collective future.

Please keep an eye on this website and facebook

for updates.

Adapting to new technologies can be a challenge (as we know from the diversity of electronic devices out there) – yet acknowledging that change is inevitable is the first step towards practical solutions that really work. To find out more – come to the Festival!

The speaker program will be confirmed in the coming weeks and we are preparing an array of activities, presentations and displays for you to see, hear, smell, touch and taste!

Based around the core themes of land, water and energy, the focus will be at a grassroots level that everyone in the community can identify with. The day will include:

  • Innovative products and technologies such as solar ovens and electric bicycles
  • Entertaining and educational activities for children, like building bug hotels or delving into compost
  • Practical hands-on workshops and demonstrations for all ages and skills such as up-styling second hand items.

There are many in our Port Stephens community who have been permanent residents for decades, others are more recent and there might be some welcome blow-ins too!

Whoever you are, we want you to come – please make a note of the venue: Tomaree High School, Salamander Bay, Port Stephens NSW.

Here’s a preliminary Festival Overview and an Expression of Interest for Businesses.

We’d love your help in getting our community involved:

  • Spread the word through your networks, family, friends and workplaces.
  • Post the date on social media and webpage if you have one.
  • Keep coming back here for evolving news on the Festival Program.

If you’re reading this and becoming keen or curious but you’re not a member of a local Port Stephens group – that’s just fine! Please get in touch and we will find you ways of becoming involved.

We look forward to making this an opportunity to bring together a wide range of special interest groups and individuals to help foster connections and common interests which our whole community can benefit from.

We appreciate the support from Port Stephens Council and would also like to invite local businesses to contact us for specific sponsorship opportunities.
