Travelling Electric: owning and operating electric vehicles.
Whether you are considering buying an electric vehicle, already own one or simply want to know what all the fuss is about – come along to Travelling Electric. There’ll be no sales pitch or glitzy gimmicks – only the genuine perspectives and expertise of EV owners and their personal experiences.
Spend your Sunday afternoon in Port Stephens at this exciting EV event organised by Renew Hunter Region Branch and hosted by Tilligerry Habitat in their beautiful, sustainably-built strawbale environment centre and grounds.
This special event starts at 2pm. Why not arrive earlier, bring a picnic lunch and explore what Tilligerry Habitat has to offer? Grab a drink and map from the visitor centre and go spot a koala on a self-guided walk.
2pm: ‘An Owner’s Perspective on Electric Vehicles’ by Les Pinney, EV expert and member of Renew Hunter Branch committee, Tilligerry Habitat and EcoNetwork Port Stephens.
Les will outline the different types of electric vehicles and discuss the practical considerations of owning an EV such as charging, running costs and batteries – as well as a look at what the future of EV’s might look like. We will also have the latest electrifying news from Port Stephens, the Hunter region and beyond.
2.45pm: A panel discussion including Q&A between EV owners and the audience. Renew members have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them, and several are professionals in related fields. Come prepared with your questions!
3.30pm: After some refreshments and home-baked pastries, we will head out to the car parking area to inspect vehicles and chat to their owners. You will have an opportunity to get a close look at 9 different models of electric cars as well as several e-bikes. Specialist EV charger installer, Ryan from Fixer Electrical, will be on hand to answer more detailed questions about charging options.
Local group displays include Renew Hunter Region Branch, Tilligerry Habitat (plant sales and gift shop), Raymond Terrace Boomerang Bags, EcoNetwork, and Climate Action Port Stephens. Please bring a little cash to splash as we don’t have card facilities.
This is a free event and is now FULLY BOOKED
