“Wild-Flower Art Walk”

September 24, 2025 – November 30, 2025
Enjoy an outdoor Art Gallery
They’re finally here ~ mid September and at least October, the Yaacaba Art Walk panels located at the corner of Yacaaba and Magnus Streets in Nelson Bay will features wildflowers from the Tomaree Peninsula. Each panel will showcase a local landscape photographed by moonlight, at midday, or sunset. These are overlaid with gorgeous local flower species.
From the artist, Dr Anne-Maree Hunter
I have been photographing the flora of area, especially our precious Terrestrial Orchids for some time; many are very rare. The Peninsula’s unique environment is a combination of its geology & topography, latitude, vegetation and climate which means we are in an orchid “hotspot”. However, in most cases, because they are very small & close to the ground, they are overlooked and vulnerable.
So, I have enlarged the flowers to show off their exquisite details. While my creative practice ranges across many mediums including printmaking and small sculptures created from recycled materials, the panel artwork are digital collages of my photographs.
I believe I live in one of the best places in the world because I can step out of my house and go snorkeling in the Marine Park or bush walking in the Tomaree National Park within minutes. My inspiration comes from the beach & bush beauties I see.
Limited Edition prints of the work from the panels will be available from the Artisan Collective at the d’Albora Marinas
An exhibition of this work will also briefly overlap with the display of the panels at Lion Studios 28th July to 8th August 2025 – Unit 7/19 Shearwater Dr, Taylors Beach NSW 2317
