Gala Dinner to launch the Sustainable Futures Festival – Media Release 12 May 2022

EcoNetwork Port Stephens invites you to the launch of the inaugural Sustainable Futures Festival at a Gala Dinner at Saltwater Restaurant, Fingal Bay on 4 June, the eve of World Environment Day.

The festival launch marks the beginning of a series of events leading to the finale, the Sustainable Futures Festival on 11 September in the grounds of St Philips Christian College, Salamander Bay. In July we have a special movie screening of River, (a beautiful musical odyssey that explores the remarkable relationship between humans and rivers), followed in August with an exhibition of entries in TheaRRRRRt Awards, a special collaboration between Nelson Bay’s Artisan Collective and EcoNetwork Port Stephens. These awards will test participant’s ability to put the R into aRt: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose or Recycle.  The aRRRRRt Awards will also be launched at the Gala Dinner.

Alison Rogers, a member of the organising committee believes that, “The Festival will showcase innovative practical technologies and products while engaging the community in learning about sustainability in a practical & fun way.”
