PLANTING DATES for the Boat Harbour entrances to the Tomaree Coastal Walk
Sue Olsson, Coordinator
Friends of Tomaree National Park
March 2026

We, at the Friends of Tomaree National Park, are excited to undertake Autumn planting and restore degraded vegetation at Tomaree Coastal Walk’s Boat Harbour entrances.
You’re invited to come along ~ family and community members, volunteers, and community, corporate or school groups. Help us plant and restore some of Tomaree’s treasured coastline ~ see dates below. We can arrange additional dates to suit a group.

Here’s an overview of our Boat Harbour restoration project, and our two focus areas:
- the Northern entrance is from Ocean Parade, along the walk corridor north to near the little bridge on the walk. More about this project here.
- the Southern entrance is from around the carpark on Kingsley Drive, and along both sides of the shared walk/drive corridor. More about this project here.
Prior to the planting dates, our Friends of Tomaree National Park volunteers have been working hard to remove invasive species.
We will now plant native coastal species ~ over 1,500 trees, shrubs and ground covers throughout Autumn 2026 ~ to stabilise soil, support habitat recovery, encourage wildlife and provide a more visually pleasing environment.
Community plantings are open to everyone — but please book!
Our Friends of Tomaree National Park also have some regular work sessions which may include planting and/or management around the planting sites. Community volunteers are welcome to come to these sessions too. Email as below.
